School Introduction:
Appleby College was founded in 1911 and is a non-profit private school for both boys and girls from 7th to 12th grade. The school admits boarding and day students, with a total of 750 students, including 80 international students from 25 countries. The school implements small class teaching, with class sizes ranging from 12-16 per class. The college offers a wide range of courses including academic, artistic, sports, and community service.

Appleby College creatively applies computers to teaching, not only being the first Canadian high school to integrate IBM ThinkPad computers and multimedia into teaching, but also equipping all students and departments with computers and establishing powerful network resources. The full utilization of the network in teaching greatly improves the quality of teaching in the school. The school has advanced facilities, and classroom content, web pages, videos, photos, and even hand drawn images are displayed on the blackboard using active smart screens and computer projectors in the classroom. Students access classroom teaching materials, assignments, school notifications, and relevant information provided by their teachers and coaches through a software platform. Since 1998, computerized teaching has enabled its graduates to achieve a very proficient level of mastery of computer technology.
9th grade students can participate in a 3-week ASCENT program that includes art, service, cumulative assessment, and a trip to the school's northern campus in Temagami. All students are members of Round Square and can participate in cultural, linguistic, service, and adventure exchanges worldwide. Due to the abundance of outdoor and sports activities, students at Appleby College are not only skilled at creating websites, but also athletes.
