The award ceremony and New Year's poetry recitation event of the first "China University Cup" recitation competition in Canada were successfully held

The art of recitation paved the way for Canada. On January 7, 2024, the award ceremony of the first "China University Cup" recitation competition in Canada and the 2024 New Year's poetry recitation ceremony were held grandly in the New Power Studio amidst the sound of spring drums.

The event is jointly organized by the Canadian Alumni Association of Xi'an International Studies University, the Highland Voice Recitation Art Institute, the current president group of Chinese university alumni associations, and the New Power Entrepreneur Club. It is sponsored by Toronto Muse Home Furnishings and hosted by Sun Jin and Lynn.

Wang Xianming, the overall planner of the event and the president of the Canadian Alumni Association of Xi'an Foreign Studies University, first reviewed the organization of the recitation competition and the New Year's poetry recitation event. He stated that there were a total of 55 entries from 75 alumni associations of 62 universities participating in the event. After three and a half months of intensive preparation and competition, the entire work team finally welcomed today's important moment.

Representatives of the organizers, He Xiaoyu, Vice President of the High Altitude Voice Recitation Art Institute, Liu Yuanzong, current President of the Chinese University Alumni Association, and James Wang, initiator of the New Power Entrepreneur Club, expressed in their speeches that they are honored to witness this glorious moment with all the guests and hope to make efforts to promote the development of recitation as a vocal language art.

The event has received strong support from various sectors of government, business, literature, and art. Congressman Jiang Zhenyu, Ontario Provincial Councilor Ke Wenbin, Deputy Mayor of Markham City Chen Guozhi, Markham City Councilor Yang Qiqing, and Richmond City Councilor Cui Binghui personally delivered speeches and presented congratulatory letters at the scene. Congressman Chen Shengyuan and Deputy Mayor of Richmond City Chen Zhihui also sent representatives to present congratulatory letters, congratulating the grand holding of the New Year Poetry Recitation Ceremony and fully recognizing the positive contribution of the recitation competition to promoting traditional Chinese culture.
