Fast track invites provincial nominated candidates
On January 7th, the Express Entry welcomed its first draw in January 2025! This draw is for the provincial nomination category, with a total of 471 people drawn and a score of 793, which is 66 points higher than the previous draw for the same category!
Fast track trend
Since the resumption of non directed (all types) invitations in July 2022, there have been significant differences in scores according to different categories. Those with lower scores have been drawn for career oriented categories, all of which are below 500 points. In recent times, the drawing scale has been around 1000-3000 people. This draw is for the provincial nomination category, with half of the invited participants from the previous round, resulting in a significant improvement in scores.
Current situation of fast track
So far, there are a total of 227305 candidates in the fast track candidate pool. Among them, there are 23654 high scoring candidates with scores above 500, an increase of 2566 compared to the previous time. Based on current trends, candidates with scores around 530 should start preparing in advance! Those who have not yet joined the pool still need to join as soon as possible. Those who have joined the pool should remember to update their materials so that they have the opportunity to submit as soon as they are invited!
Requirements for fast track entry into the pool
Canadian Experience Category (CEC):
1. In the past 3 years, there has been 1 year in Canada NOC 0、 1. 2-3 types of work experience may not be continuous, cannot be work experience during the study period, and cannot be self-employed; If it is a job classified as NOC 0 or 1, a language proficiency level of CLB 7 is required. If it is a job classified as NOC 2 or 3, a language proficiency level of CLB 5 is required.
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW):
1. In the past 10 years, there has been one consecutive year of NOC 0、 1. 2-3 types of work experience, which can be within or outside of Canada; 2. Language proficiency level of CLB 7 or above, which means achieving a score of 6 or above in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for IELTS;
3. Six scores exceeding 67 points.
Federal Skilled Worker Immigration (FST):
1. Have 2 years of full-time work experience (30 hours per week) or equivalent part-time work experience in the technology industry in the past 5 years;
2. Achieve CLB 5 in speaking and listening (IELTS listening score of 5, speaking score of 5), and CLB 4 in reading and writing (IELTS reading score of 3.5, writing score of 4);
3. The applicant needs to obtain an LMIA supported by the employer or a skilled worker certificate issued by the Canadian provincial government.
Latest news related to fast track
On November 1, 2024, IRCC updated the Fast Track Career Orientation Invitations. Starting from 2025, Fast Track Career Orientation Invitations will only be open to the following three categories:
healthcare
Technician industry
French category
Candidates who plan to immigrate through the fast track can prioritize the above industries in order to have a greater chance of obtaining immigration qualifications.
It is not clear whether the scope of career orientation will expand in the future, but according to the latest news, it is highly likely that only the above three categories will meet the qualifications for 2025. Compared to 2024, there are three major categories missing: STEM, agriculture, and transportation.
What should I do if my EE score remains high
Although the invitation scores for the fast track have shown a downward trend, the decrease in scores has slowed down and even shown an upward trend. It can be foreseen that a high level will still be maintained in the short term, and candidates with IELTS scores below 8777 or non master's or doctoral degrees will still find it difficult to be invited. Therefore, it may also be worth considering many other low threshold immigration options in Canada. For example, the most popular nursing immigration under the new policy, various provincial nomination policies, etc. The most important thing is that these projects have a faster approval process, lower requirements, and are easier to successfully apply for under the guidance of professionals!
