On the morning of November 6, 2024, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of Wanjinmeng Tasting Pavilion Chinese Medicine acupuncture and moxibustion Clinic of Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in the Vitality Hall of Wanjinmeng Tasting Pavilion Elder Building.
The guests from Canada's three levels of government who participated in the event were: Ms. Wendy Shum, representative of Member of Parliament Mary Ng; Mr. Billy Pang, Member of Parliament from Ontario; Mr. Michael Chan, Deputy Mayor of Markham City; and Ms. Isa Lee, City Councilor. The leaders of the Mengtang Association include: Chairman Tim Kwan, First Vice Chairman Doris Chan, and Honorary Director Ivan Hon. The leaders of Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine include Professor Wu Binjiang, Dean, Mr. Jacky Zhang, Director of the College Office, and representatives of teachers and students. More than 150 elderly residents of the Elderly Building attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Chinese medicine acupuncture and moxibustion clinic. The police district also dispatched two officers to participate in the activity.
The activity was presided over by Mr. Ivan Hon. Professor Wu Binjiang said: "This is the first Chinese medicine clinic set up in the Elderly Care Service Building in Canada. Teachers and students of Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine must provide good services for the building leaders and provide the best Chinese medicine acupuncture and moxibustion services for the elderly."
