Canadian furniture company Wazo Furniture has branches in Toronto and Montreal, but it appears to have closed down. CTV Toronto News has received feedback from many customers who have paid for their orders in advance over the past few months and are shocked by the news of their sudden closure.
Derrick Gravener from Toronto said he had purchased sofas and other items from the company. In November of this year, Gravener placed a new order hoping to receive it before Christmas for family gatherings.
I bought a table and two chairs to match our existing bar chairs, with a total order amount of approximately 1100 Canadian dollars
However, when he no longer received replies to his emails and phone calls, he began to feel worried.
Gravener said, "I called them, but no one answered, not even the sales hotline. It's really strange

Gravener is seeking a refund. He said, "It's really bad to be completely ignored by a company. I think, like me and many others, we just want to get our hard-earned money back
Another customer, Michael, stated that he placed an order with Wazo Furniture in September but never received the goods.
I ordered a sofa worth 4800 yuan. I have also purchased it from them in the past, and they looked pretty good at that time
At present, Wazo Furniture's website is still running and displaying holiday promotions with a 60% discount. But the email sent by CTV has not been replied to, and the phone numbers in Toronto and Montreal are also unreachable.
At the North York branch, there is almost nothing in the store, and according to Google's annotation, the branch has now been permanently closed.
The workers who are renovating the store said that the site is currently under renovation and Wazo Furniture moved out about a month ago.

The number of corporate bankruptcies in Canada has reached its highest level in 15 years, with a total of 1312 cases recorded in the third quarter of 2024.
In Ontario, this number has increased by 67% compared to the same period last year, and a licensed bankruptcy trustee predicts that more businesses will face difficulties in the coming year.
I think 2025 will be a difficult year, "said Doug Hoyes of Hoyes, Michalos&Associates
Hoyes pointed out that many companies have not officially filed for bankruptcy after ceasing operations, so the number of closed companies may be much higher than the statistical data.
Bankruptcy statistics only reflect a partial picture. The actual number of companies closed may be as many as ten times the statistics
He believes that the economy has entered a recession period, and more companies will face difficult situations in the coming year.
If I spend more money on food, housing, and transportation, my consumption of furniture will decrease, and in economic downturns, these types of businesses often bear the brunt
