Kunpeng Fudi is located in Pengdong Village, Rendong Town, Yuzhou District, Yulin City, Guangxi Province, China, about 7 kilometers from the center of Yulin city. The scenic area is upgrading, renovating, and expanding based on the traditional ancient village of "Kangle Ancient Village". Kangle Ancient Village was first built during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, with a history of over 500 years. Many traditional village ruins are still preserved today. In 2018, it was successively included in the fifth batch of China's traditional village list, and was awarded relevant honors such as the National Forest Village List and the National Rural Governance Demonstration Village.
Kunpeng Fudi is based on the existing ruins of old villages, relying on local historical and cultural heritage, with the overall layout of Kangle Ancient Village, historical environment and style, and the protection and utilization of folk cultural heritage as the core. It features the texture of riverbanks, ponds, and rural villages, and through the integration of "culture+tourism+agriculture" innovation, it creates a Chinese Lingnan traditional village heritage cultural scenic spot that combines "ancient village wedding photography+health and wellness homestay+study camp" as one, with dual functions of cultural exhibition and rural tourism experience.
In order to maintain the authenticity, integrity, and continuity of the ancient village, Pengdong Village has restored 88 ancient dwellings, as well as the ancient city walls, moat, and Kangle Bridge in Kangle Village through the method of "restoring the old as it is", and has initially restored the pattern of the Ming and Qing dynasties. In addition, a village history museum and a red courtyard have been built, making Pengdong Village a traditional village site cultural park where nature, modernity, and history coexist harmoniously. This not only preserves nostalgia, but also cultivates rural customs and reshapes the rural soul.
