On December 16, 2023, the Canada China Cultural and Economic Development Alliance (CCCEDA) successfully held a press conference at Topkids Education Center for the "2024 'Happy Spring Festival' Overseas Opera Spring Festival Gala - Toronto Concert by Chinese Opera Masters". This concert is also one of the global "Happy Spring Festival" series of events, and will be held on January 7, 2024 (Sunday) at 7:30 pm at the He Bozhao Theater in the Greater Toronto Cultural Center (address: 5183 Sheppard Ave E), Scarborough, Toronto, ON M1B 5Z5 is grandly held. More than 50 people, including media outlets, overseas Chinese communities, sponsors, co organizers, and cast members, attended the press conference to witness the important milestone of the dissemination of Chinese opera art overseas. The atmosphere on site was warm and enthusiastic.
The 2024 "Happy Spring Festival" Overseas Opera Spring Festival Gala - Toronto Concert by Chinese Opera Masters "is sponsored by Ruibang Asset Management Company and co organized by the Canada China Opera Cultural Exchange Association and the Inner Mongolia Association of Canada. Sophia Lian, Chairperson of the Canada China Cultural and Economic Development Alliance, stated that in order to promote wider exchanges and cooperation between Canada and China in the fields of culture and art, promote excellent traditional Chinese culture and national art, and promote and activate the prosperity and development of diverse cultures in Canada, the Canada China Cultural and Economic Development Alliance has invited three world-renowned Chinese opera performers to visit Canada. With their top-notch artistic achievements, they will work together with local opera masters and enthusiasts in Toronto to create a unique and classic opera feast that gathers famous performers from various genres, schools, and industries, including Peking Opera, Yu Opera, Yue Opera, Pingju Opera, Huangmei Opera, Hunan Flower Drum Opera, etc.

Chen Chen, the manager of the title sponsor Ruibang Asset Management Company, gave a speech affirming the important significance of the Chinese Opera Spring Festival Gala in promoting cultural exchanges between Canada and China. Mr. Zhang Xudong, President of the Canada China Opera Culture Exchange Association, provided a detailed introduction to the three famous Chinese opera performers invited to join, laying the foundation for the wonderful presentation of the concert. They are Mr. Hu Wenge, the only male lead disciple of Mei Baojiu, the son of Mei Lanfang, a famous male lead performer at the Beijing Peking Opera Theater and a contemporary master of the Mei School of Peking Opera. 94 years ago, Mei Lanfang's visit to the United States caused a huge sensation. Today, let us enter the He Bozhao Theater to once again appreciate the outstanding performance of the third generation male lead descendant of the Mei School in Canada. Another famous Chinese opera performer invited to join is the renowned Huangmei opera performer Wu Qiong, who is well-known to everyone. This event also invited Professor Ma Li from the Central Academy of Drama, a young Peking Opera master, winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, and a renowned Peking Opera performer, to celebrate the Chinese New Year together with Chinese and overseas Chinese, as well as Toronto's theater fans and spectators. Famous artists sing classic songs from Toronto, the excitement is definitely not to be missed!
Mr. Han Zifu, academician of the Beijing Century Celebrity Calligraphy and Painting Academy and Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Weifang Calligraphy and Painting Art Exchange Association, presented the ink treasure "Thick Accumulation and Thin Development" to thousands of miles in China, warmly praising the long-standing contributions of the Canada China Cultural and Economic Development Alliance and the Canada China Opera Culture Exchange Association in promoting traditional Chinese culture overseas.
