On July 21, 2024, the "Dreams and Love Walk Together - The Voice of Plum Shadow" Liang Meiying Charity Solo Concert, organized by the President of the Chinese Professional Women's Association in Canada, Liang Meiying, was held at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. This performance was a charity fundraising event for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese charity organization, the Meng Ting Society, and was a complete success.
Ms. Liang Meiying, a talented soprano, has been continuously improving under the guidance of renowned teachers for many years. With her unique personal charm and singing talent, she enjoys a high reputation in the Chinese community in Toronto. She is not only a graduate of the Chinese Conservatory of Music's professional examination, but also a member of the Toronto Chinese Artists Center and a vocal instructor. Currently, she is studying under the renowned opera tenor, composer, instrumentalist, and vocal mentor Romulo Delgado, and has obtained professional certification as a music teacher from the Central Conservatory of Music.
She has been active on the cultural and artistic stage all year round, participating in numerous performances including the "2017 Newcomer New Song Concert", "2019 Newcomer New Song Concert", "Love in Hometown, Radiant China" concert, the first "Stars Shine" concert, the "Joyful Singers" concert from 2017 to 2023, and "Song Rhyme China · Classic Recitation · Art Chapter". In recent years, Ms. Liang Meiying has been invited to lead over a hundred performances of the national anthems of Canada and China for various large-scale celebration events organized by various clubs, earning her the title of "National Anthem Sister".
Ms. Liang Meiying, who has been active on the art stage since childhood, studied under music professor Mr. Yang Desun and national first-class actress Ms. Sha Ben from the General Political Song and Dance Troupe before immigrating. She has served as a host for evening parties, an amateur actress in film and television theater troupes, and participated in various forms of performances such as plays, sketches, dances, and solo performances, accumulating rich stage experience.
After immigrating, Ms. Liang Meiying returned to Toronto's cultural community and arts stage after several years of precipitation. In order to further enhance her singing skills, she studied under Huaqiang soprano singer Chen Lin from 2016 to 2019; From 2020 to 2023, she also studied cross-border singing techniques under the guidance of vocal educator and gold medalist of the Youth Song Competition, "Versatile Magic Sound" teacher Jie Jing. Her relentless efforts and deep exploration have laid a solid foundation for the upcoming solo concert.

This concert is hosted by the Toronto Chinese Artists Center. In the first half, Ms. Leung Mei ying performed a wonderful solo performance, featuring opera, dolphin, pop, and folk songs. The audience also enjoyed Mr. Cui Binghui, a councilor from Richmond Hill, playing the flute solo "Flower Demon"; The wonderful dances of teams such as the Lily Art Troupe of the Canadian Chinese Professional Women's Association, the Dance Troupe of the Canadian Multicultural Folk Arts Association, and the Meimei Dance Studio.
In the second half, Dr. Liang Erhei, composer of the Toronto Chinese Artists Center Philharmonic Orchestra, personally conducted and accompanied Liang Meiying. Liang Meiying played different songs including arias. Throughout the evening, Liang Meiying performed more than ten Chinese and Western songs with diverse styles and languages, showcasing her cross-border vocal skills. The audience also enjoyed the guest music master Yen Han Chen performing a solo black pipe; The entire evening party is undoubtedly a unique highlight of Toronto's cultural life this summer.
The surplus from this concert will be donated to the Mengtang Concert to support its development. Founded in 1964, the Mengtang Society is the first charity organization registered by Chinese people in Canada. It has always been committed to supporting the elderly, caring for the young, and promoting Chinese culture. Currently, it has four long-term care homes, three senior buildings, three Chinese schools, as well as youth groups, community and volunteer service centers. The donations after the performance are still being counted, and Liang Meiying's performance of "Dreams and Love Walk Together" is a role model for the Chinese community.
