The Canadian National Mahjong Association welcomes a new board of directors, with a long way to go

The Canadian National Mahjong Association has recently completed its election, and the birth of a new council marks a new development opportunity for the association. After thorough deliberation and discussion, a group of young and energetic mahjong enthusiasts who are passionate, willing to innovate, and willing to contribute have joined the council, injecting new vitality into the future development of the association. The new council is composed of 30 national standard mahjong enthusiasts, with a more comprehensive and enriched personnel structure, which is in line with the philosophy and goals of the new council. After voting, the new council has determined the new organizational structure and personnel division of the association to optimize and improve its various work, and ensure the smooth progress of various activities. Max Ma has been elected as the new president of the council, and he will lead the council to fully promote the development of the Canadian National Mahjong Association. Andy Shan、Jerry Ren、 Yang Daiyong and Jeffrey Wu serve as vice presidents, jointly assisting the president in carrying out various tasks. Barry Zhu will serve as Secretary General, while Guoqiang Cheng and Taggie Zhang will serve as Deputy Secretary General, assisting the Secretary General in completing daily tasks.


The finance department is responsible for managing the financial affairs and bank accounts of the association, assisting and cooperating with various departments in related financial activities, and ensuring the smooth progress of various competitions and activities of the association. Cynthia Sui is appointed as the Minister of Finance, while Linda He and Taggie Zhang serve as members of the department.


The technical department is responsible for organizing online and offline competitions of national standard mahjong, including scheduling, ranking, result summary, and score release. At the same time, the technical department will also arrange learning and exchange for competition referees, as well as organize training and improvement for national standard mahjong enthusiasts. Halley Lin serves as the Minister of Technology, Bing Yu and Jason Cheng serve as Deputy Ministers, and Wang Yingfu Joe Zhou、Xiaoping Guo、Yufeng Liu、 Yang Daiyong, Barry Zhu, and Max Ma serve as members of the department.


The Promotion and Development Department is responsible for promoting the Chinese standard mahjong among various regions, ethnic groups, communities, and age groups in Canada, attracting and cultivating more Chinese standard mahjong enthusiasts. At the same time, the department will also manage the association's website and uniformly publish information such as competition promotion notices and order books. Leo Zhang serves as the Minister of Propaganda and Development, and Gao Shumei serves as the Deputy Minister, Ricky Huang、 Sunshine, James Ding, Jerry Ren, and Jeffrey Wu serve as members of the department.


The General Affairs Department will assist various departments in carrying out various competitions and activities, including the implementation of activity venues, equipment, and trophy certificates. At the same time, the General Affairs Department will maintain contact with the World Mahjong Organization, the International Mahjong Federation, and national standard mahjong organizations in various countries and regions around the world to promote competition and information exchange. The department will also liaise with various levels of Canadian government and other organizations, apply for government funding, seek sponsorship, develop markets, recruit volunteers, etc. Frank Hou serves as the Minister of General Affairs, David Liu as the Deputy Minister, and Gong Aihua, Jim Gong, Andy Xuan, Shengji Lin (Easy Media), Steve Xu, Jim Zhang, Andy Shan, and Guoqiang Cheng serve as members of the department.


The new council recognizes the outstanding achievements made by the previous council under the leadership of Steve Xu, and hopes that they will continue to provide advice and strategies for the new council, and work together to promote the development of national standard mahjong in Canada. They look forward to Max Ma and the new council members leading the Canadian Mahjong Association to create a new era.
