World Championships Appreciation Banquet

On the evening of October 25th at 7 pm, the Star Chinese Restaurant in Richmond was bustling with activity. The Canadian Mahjong Association was gathering here to celebrate the successful hosting of the 7th World Mahjong Championship in Mississauga two weeks ago, and to express sincere gratitude to all those who worked hard in the competition for their success and righteousness.

More than 60 people including contestants, volunteers, sponsor representatives, and media representatives from Toronto attended the dinner. Everyone gathered together and shared their thoughts on the competition. On behalf of the association and the organizing committee, President Max Ma congratulates all participants, expresses gratitude to all volunteers, sponsors, and media friends, and hopes that they will continue to support the association's work in the future and work together to promote Chinese culture. Six outstanding athlete medals were also awarded to six older athletes in recognition of their respect for the referee, opponents, and humble and open-minded attitude towards the competition.

Mr. Wang Yingfu, Honorary President of the Association, also spoke at the banquet, affirming the achievements of the Association in overcoming various difficulties and successfully hosting the World Championship. He hoped that we would not be arrogant or impatient, and continue to work hard to promote the national standard mahjong.

The banquet ended with the song "Mahjong Light" led by Tom Li.
