The police exposed that a Toronto driver was caught using 3D printed license plates, and the counterfeit products are quite realistic

In recent years, many drivers in Toronto and its surrounding areas have been arrested for using fake license plates, and this discovery is no exception.

On Thursday, the Toronto Police Department's Transportation Services team released a photo of a 3D printed motorcycle license plate on X, and the rider has been punished.

According to the Highway Traffic Act, Ontario drivers who drive vehicles without a valid license will face fines starting from $85, and for more serious violations, police will issue fines of up to $1000.

Although this 3D printed license plate looks quite realistic, it is not a real license plate.

The police have discovered various fake license plates in recent years. In 2022, a driver was stopped by York City police during a roadside inspection near a nightclub in the city of Wan, as they discovered a hand drawn license plate that looked like a primary school student's handmade art.

Even more exaggerated is that a driver was stopped in Brant town, Ontario in 2021. The police found that the car used cardboard boxes instead of real license plates, and the cardboard boxes were originally used to hold Pamper Swaddlers baby diapers.

In 2021, Toronto police arrested and charged another driver who printed a license plate photo and glued it onto a metal plate. The same driver received 28 fines within 10 days, including 5 without car insurance.
