Latest poll in Ontario: PC Party leads the province, Liberal Party overtakes Toronto

According to the latest survey by Nanos Research, the official polling agency of CTV News, although the Progressive Conservative Party (PC Party) in Ontario still maintains a 14 percentage point lead across the province, the Liberal Party has achieved a comeback in Toronto.


The survey interviewed 931 Ontario voters and released the results on Friday: 45.2% of undecided voters support the PC Party, 31.3% support the Liberal Party, 16.8% support the New Democratic Party (NDP), 5.1% support the Green Party, and 1.6% choose other candidates.


In the overall data including undecided voters, the support rate of the PC Party is 40.3%, the Liberal Party is 27.8%, the NDP is 14.9%, the Green Party is 4.6%, 1.4% choose other candidates, and 11% are undecided.



Toronto election situation changes, Liberal Party leads PC Party by 6.7 percentage points


Nik Nanos, Chief Data Scientist at Nanos Research, pointed out in the analysis that the PC Party leads the Liberal Party by 14 percentage points across the province and maintains an advantage in all regions, except for Toronto where it lags behind. It is worth noting that in Toronto, the Liberal Party leads the PC Party, and Crombie is 10 percentage points higher than Ford in the 'Most Popular Governor' poll

According to the survey, 43.3% of Toronto voters support the Liberal Party, while 36.6% support the PC Party, 15.3% support the NDP, and 3.9% support the Green Party.


In the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the PC Party still leads with 53.2% of voters supporting the party, while the Liberal Party has a support rate of 30.7%, leading by more than 20 percentage points.


Investigation method and error range


This random survey was conducted via telephone and online from February 18th to February 20th, with an error range of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points and a confidence interval of 20 out of 19 surveys being accurate.
