Former Senator Victor Oh held a grand award ceremony on February 23rd at the picturesque Bayview Golf and Country Club. To award the King Charles III Coronation Medal to ten individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Canadian society in their respective fields. The atmosphere on site was solemn and lively, with guests gathering together to witness this glorious moment.


The King Charles III Coronation Medal is established by the Canadian government to celebrate the coronation of the King on May 6, 2023. It is Canada's first commemorative coronation medal and aims to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in community building, cultural promotion, public service, or international affairs. The award of medals not only recognizes the past achievements of the awardees, but also symbolizes their dedication to Canadian society.

The ceremony kicked off with the solemn singing of "God Save the King", and His Excellency Hu Zixiu immediately took the stage to deliver a speech. He said, "Today, we gather together to award the King Charles III Coronation Medal to ten outstanding individuals. Their contributions in entrepreneurship, charity, community service, medicine, and education demonstrate Canada's cherished values of dedication, responsibility, and excellence

After the Canadian national anthem "Oh Canada", His Excellency Hu Zixiu presented awards to ten winners, who are:


Dr. Francis K.W. Pang is an outstanding educator, investor, philanthropist, and expert in international public-private partnerships. He has been awarded the Order of Canada, the Order of the Chinese Government, and the UNESCO Certificate of Appreciation.

Dianming Yang, President of the Canadian Shandong General Chamber of Commerce, won the award for his contributions to organizing medical donations and promoting cultural and economic cooperation between Canada and China during the COVID-19 epidemic.


Bin Chen - President and Chairman of Wanfeng Auto Holdings Group, his outstanding leadership in the automotive, advanced materials, and manufacturing industries has made him a model in the industry.


Anthony Merchant - Senior Legal Expert and Senior Advisor for the 2006 Native American Boarding School Placement Program, contributing to the rights of Canada's First Nations Indigenous peoples.


James Jiang - Chairman of Taichu Capital and Honorary President of the Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce in Canada, actively promotes international investment projects and makes outstanding contributions in the field of charity.


Kuldip "Jake" Dheer - an outstanding business and community leader who has been dedicated to volunteering and community building for over 40 years.


Irwin Li, former president of the Canada China Entrepreneurship Association, has been widely recognized for his contributions in the fields of real estate development, finance, and import of building materials.


Nick Ierfino - Founder of L&A Professional Corporation, a chartered professional accounting firm specializing in tax planning, estate management, and business consulting.


James Lin, a senior Chinese Canadian journalist known as the "living dictionary" of the Chinese community, has won the Canadian Huacai Award for his outstanding news reporting and community service.


Frank Liu, President of Jinjia Group, is an outstanding entrepreneur in the fields of construction management and land development, and has long been involved in charitable causes and affordable housing projects.

Hu Zixiu recalled that the Canadian government announced in May 2023 that it would award 30000 King Charles III Coronation Medals to honor those who have won honors for Canada at the national or international level.
