On January 29th, the Mississauga Chinese Chamber of Commerce held a New Year gathering at the lobby of the Mississauga City Hall to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Snake. Nearly 200 citizens, key figures from the political and business sectors, and guests gathered together.
Attendees at the event included Mayor Carolyn Parrish, Vice Consul General of China in Toronto, Bian Zhouzhou, former Senator Hu Zixiu, Provincial Councilor Iqra Khalid, Minister of Small Business Rechie Valdez, several city councilors, Hilda Chow, Economic and Trade Representative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Toronto, and Police Representative of the Peel District. They extended New Year's greetings to all citizens at the event, wishing them a happy Chinese New Year, good health, peace and prosperity!
