On the seventh day of the Lunar New Year on February 4th, a group of directors from the Richmond Hill Wang City Chinese Merchants Association, together with Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham, Mayor David West of Richmond Hill, Mayor Steven Del Duca of Wang City, York District Police officers, and city councilors from the three cities, went to First Markham Place Markham Plaza, Richmond Hill Times Square, and Wang City Promenade Shopping Centre shopping mall to pay New Year's greetings to the merchants, distribute spring flowers, and wish the residents of the area smooth sailing, good health, abundant financial resources, and prosperous business in the new year.
The President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Xu Hanli, stated that the chamber will continue to actively participate in community activities, promote business cooperation, and make greater contributions to promoting economic development in the region.
Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham stated that this New Year's visit is an important community gathering. He also expressed sincere wishes to the citizens and merchants in the district, hoping that in the new year, everyone can work together to build a more prosperous and harmonious community.
York district police officers also stated that they will continue to strengthen patrols, protect community safety, provide better services for residents and businesses, and ensure that everyone lives and works peacefully and happily in the new year.
